Published in 1913, Winstedt's grammar would use the obsolete orthography in use prior to the coordination of Malay and Indonesian spelling finally implemented in 1972. If you are interested in a modern learner's grammar of Malay, Malcom Mintz has written a good one.
The Winstedt grammar is out of copyright, and available for free in various places on the internet, so it makes sense to buy this book only if you really want a hardcopy.
